November College Beat For Juniors
Dear Juniors and Parents,
As the old saying goes, “Two heads are better than one.” Now that you are in the heart of your studies, you may want to start a study group. Choose a group of 4-6 people who are in your core classes who seem to share your interest in doing well in class. In this group, share notes, talents, such as organizational skills, a talent for memorizing, etc., and in this way you will be able to cover more ground. Try to find a time and place conducive for all the group to meet.
Keep track of your accomplishments, awards, activities, etc. because you may need this list for college applications or scholarships next fall.
Try to take the SAT or ACT next spring. Then, next fall, take it again. Be sure to send the scores to your colleges of interest.
By next summer, you should finalize a list of colleges you want to apply for and either visit their campuses or explore their websites.
