Alumni at Homecoming 2007

Carrie Beard Wright graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
She is married to Michael Wright and is the proud mom of three boys: Michael-5, Nathaniel-2, and Samuel-6 months
She is a busy stay at home mom and lives in Pearland, Texas.

Sarah Ireland Illman graduated from Covenant College in 2002 with a BS in Elementary Education. Sarah is married and has one daughter Adelaide “Addie” . She lives in Alabama and works for a ministry called Common Ground Montgomery.

Ashley Hulsey Behn graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas with a BS in Communications. Ashley is married to Trey Behn and is the proud mother of two children. Treyson 3 years and Zoe 8 months. In 2007, Ashley created a web site for the women of Southeast Texas called www.beaumontbuzz.com. She recently discovered that she is pregnant with her third child.

Lauren Ireland Cavett attended and graduated from Covenant College, and had one semester at the University of Queensland in Australia.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Education, Sociology, & Physical Education.  Lauren got married this summer to Joshua Cavett ‘99 and lives in Beaumont and is teaching piano lessons.

Trevor Brock graduated in May of 2004 with a BA in finance from Texas A&M University. During Trevor’s senior year at A&M, he was a student assistant to President Bush (41). Upon graduation, he lived in New York and worked as a financial consultant for Earnst and Young. Currently, Trevor lives in Dallas where he teaches rhetoric and is completing is MA in English Literature at SMU. He will graduate in May 2008. He enjoys hunting and reading in his spare time.

Brian Shajari graduated in 2005 from Lamar University with a BS in Criminal Justice and BA in History. Brian is on active duty with the United States Coast Guard and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Brian spends his spare time playing the bagpipes at various community events and restoring his World War II jeep. Brian enjoys sports, hiking, and many outdoor activities. Currently, Brian is pursing a position as a Commissioned officer in the United States Coast Guard.

David Bills is a senior at Lamar University and will graduate in May of’ ‘08 with a BS in Education. David will student teach in the spring and is working for Fund Raising Specialist in Beaumont. He is single and enjoys golfing.

Blake Gallier attended Lamar University and works for Fund Raising Specialist in Beaumont. Blake is a member at Dowlen Road Church of Christ and actively serves on summer mission in Mexico. His hobbies are outdoor activities, golf and financial investments. Blake held a reunion for the class of 2002 this December.

Linzay Fontenot graduated from Lamar University in 2006 with a BS in Hospitality Management. Linzay is in graduate school earning her master’s degree at Lamar. She is engaged to Tim Ervin and is planning an August 2008 wedding. She is the mission’s coordinator for Westgate Baptist Church in Beaumont and enjoys party planning in her spare time.

Ellie Fontenot is a 2007 Texas A&M University graduate with a BA in International Studies and just finished her first semester of law school at Wake Forest in Winton Salem, North Carolina. After long hours of study, Ellie enjoys playing tennis to relax. She attends St. Leo’s Catholic church.

Amanda Hulsey is a senior at Lamar University and is majoring in communications and nursing. Amanda made the Dean’s List for the fall of 2007. She enjoys playing with her niece and nephew in her spare time.

Mary Catherine Fontenot is a senior at Baylor University majoring in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training. She will graduate in May 2008 and has applied to graduate school at Vanderbilt, LSU, and University of Kentucky, with plans to earn her master’s degree.

Janz Arante graduated Salutatorian from Cathedral Christian High School and is attending Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas. She is majoring in nursing.

Steven Davis is attending Sam Houston State University and is majoring in English and Creative writing. Stephen has a 3.8 GPA and plans to graduate in 2009. Along with many hours of studying, Stephen is writing a fiction novel delving into the issue of the divine inheritance of humanity.

Robert Ashabranner is busy completing his first year at Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennesee. Rob was red shirted for his freshman year, but was scout team player of the week. Rob says that “standing on the sideline watching Vanderbilt beat South Carolina in front of a crowd of 80,000 screaming gamecocks fans, was the highlight of the season.” Rob looks forward to next year when he plans on making a difference on defense.
