Legacy Warriors Prepare for Playoffs
Having sewed up their first playoff appearance as the Legacy Christian Academy Warriors with a 39-0 thrashing of Mt. Carmel, the team faces Katy Faith West at Babe Zaharias Stadium at 7:30pm Friday night in their last regular season game. As Cathedral Christian High School the ’05 team made the playoffs eventually losing at the region level.

“Before a game, I have to get into game mode. First, I listen to my music, then we (the team) eat, we have fellowship and prayer, then we have down time. I listen to more music, then I go play.”

“Support the Team”
“The football team has to prepare before every game by warming up and getting into “game mode.” They also need to be hydrated before, during, and after the games. That’s where the water girls come in. Senior Madison Naymola, Juniors Ashleigh Morrell and Taylor Rothkamm serve as the water girls. Before every game the girls, with the help of Tim Shaw, fill up three coolers with water, then load it on the bus. The water game bottles travel in a separate cooler for the girls to carry. They fill the bottles up and wait for the game to start. When it does, the girls put as many bottles of ice cold water as they can carry in their arms. When one of the coaches calls for a time-out, the girls run out on the field and put water into the huddle. Come out to a game and help support the water girls support the boys!”

Exhilarating describes Legacy Christian’s JV boys’ basketball team! Our Warriors won the Hardin JV tournament Nov. 29-Dec. 1! Our team consisted of six freshmen and one eighth grader: Lain Herr, Victor Hoskins, Jacobi Lee, Kendal Simmons, Darreon Titus, Joseph Domingeaux, and Jonathan Cregor.
|
They crushed Tarkington’s freshmen team by 25 points, pounded Hull-Daisetta’s JV by 30 points, on the road to the championship games against Tarkington’s JV.
Tarkington led most of the game and was ahead by 6 with a minute to go. With the Warriors’ intensity, and great teamwork, the team closed the gap and Tarkington led by 2 with 9 seconds left in the game. Coach Patureau called a time-out and devised a play for a possible 2 or 3 point basket. The guys executed it and Jonathan Cregor hit the three pointer with 5 ticks left on the clock. Tarkington attempted another play, but Victor shut them down with quick defense, and the Warriors were crowned champions!
